How's everyone doing? It's been an entire summer since I've made a submission. I gave it some thought on who to draw and I decided on Delta Goodrem. She's beautiful and talented and best of all, she's Australian! lol call me weird but I have a thing for Australians. I'd very much like to visit the country one day and just pick up the awesome accent lol. Anyways I hope I haven't been forgotten by too many people...I know I've been inactive but I'm doing the best I can to keep up!

Thank you Mona! Yea I really enjoy drawing hair. It does take a lot of time and practice. Though I do enjoy drawing the eyes more. I personally don't like drawing hands and lips though lol.

Lol, every artist has his/her specialty, :-). Yeah, I SUCK at hands, they end up looking all cartoony and funky, but I love drawing eyes as well. In general, I love drawing portraits. I'm working on a painting right now, which I have not touched since the beginning of the school year :-( because of lack of time and space, but it's a portrait of the characters Edward and Bella from the Twilight series. Hopefully I'll get it done before 2009 rolls around! :pray:

So what's your specialty? I've never seen Twilight but I just googled them and they look like they'd make a good painting. Good luck on that, and get it done!! Don't be like me lol...I started the Delta Goodrem drawing at the end of July. After I finished the face I just left it there to collect dust lol.

lol. funny how that happens, huh? thus far, my specialty is portraits & figures, usually sketching and painting. i was inspired to paint the Twilight characters over the summer as I got more and more pulled in by the books (the movie comes out in November! wooot! you should go see it!). It's difficult right now to paint because I don't really have the space in my dorm room and I'm not an art student so I can't use the studio space (which really sucks). At the beginning of the semester, I bugged the art department about letting me use studio space, and the head-guy was like, well that space is reserved for art students :blahblah: and told me he would check into it. I haven't really heard a "yea" or "nay" on it yet, so I think I'm going to email him, but still, even if I do get the space, I'm just soooo incredibly busy with other things. Right now, all of my artistic energies are focused on poetry, which is going well. I'm really enjoying it :-).

So, for how long have you been drawing/doing art?

I've been doing art since Kindergarten lol. All my life I thought it'd be something I wanna make my future, but now that I took art in college I realized it's better off as a hobby. Careers can dull your passion sometimes.

What you should do is take an art class so you have an excuse to use studio space lol. Plus you can paint. I can't paint to save my life lol. Though I have been looking into making color portraits with colored pencils, it's just a matter of wanting to take that next step yanno?

As for poetry, that's pretty awesome. I'd like to improve my poetic skills, more specifically lyrical since I'm also a musician and a hopeful songwriter :)

Specifically, you do such a great job with HAIR! Drawing hair is one of my weaknesses as an artist, but you really nail it. Damn.
